What are the differences between laser marking and laser engraving?

  1. The depth of processing and printing is different
Laser engraving machines generally have a deeper engraving depth and greater power. The depth of engraving materials ranges from 0.1 mm to 80 mm, and the depth of engraving depends on the specific material. Laser marking machines generally have a printing depth of less than 5 mm, and the laser rate is between 10w and 100w.
  2. The processing speed is different
The engraving speed of laser engraving machines is generally 200mm/s cutting speed and 500mm/s engraving speed; the speed of laser marking machines is generally three times that of laser engraving machines. In terms of speed, laser marking machines are faster than laser engraving machines.
  3. The accuracy and speed of the marking machine are much higher than that of the engraving machine
The laser can use a fine beam to act on the surface of the material, and the fine line width can reach 0.02mm. It provides a broad application space for precision processing and anti-counterfeiting.
  4. The difference in marking format
laser marking machines can generally mark a format of 200 * 200mm, and engraving machines can engrave large formats.
  5. The difference between engraving and marking materials
laser engraving machines engrave a wide variety of materials: glass, crystal, acrylic, wood, marble, cloth, leather, felt, paper, PVC, plastic, mosaic and other non-metallic materials can be engraved or cut.

The laser marking machine industry is mainly used for fabrics, leather, wood products, ceramics or metal products.
