Experience gain is an excellent method of gaining power and prestige in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Not only does your Character be powerful with each Level gained, but reaching the ultimate Level 99 is an achievement that few individuals accomplish within their entire Diablo career. The ability to farm Experience efficiently empowers your progression at all stages of gameplay.

There are three ways for any Character to get Experience (XP) in Diablo II: Resurrected.

Monsters dying in the vicinity of the Character. Whether it's the Character as well as their Summons or Mercenary, or any Partied unit within 53.33 yards (Roughly 2 screens around the native 800 x 600 resolution of vanilla Diablo 2), Experience is shared.

Monsters that have been turned (By Skills for example Conversion and Confuse) that kill another monster, grant the Character Experience.

The Ancients Quest line provides a set quantity of Experience when completed.

You regain a portion of lost Experience from Character Death in Nightmare and Hell, whenever you retrieve the body.

Generally speaking, killing high-Level monsters quickly may be the fastest method to gain XP. Baal runs and Chaos runs permit you to kill considerable amounts of the highest Level monsters hanging around. Look for these kinds of games on Multiplayer whenever you're attempting to blast the Leaderboards on Season Start.

Experience is gained around the first kill of the monster which may be resurrected by another monster. For example, a Fallen resurrected with a Fallen Shaman, won't give any XP around the second kill.

D2R Ladder Items

Tentacle Beast tentacles give Experience individually in the head from the monster. If the head is killed first, the 2 tentacles also die, although not awarded Experience.

Suicide Minions don't award Experience when they die that belongs to them explosion Skill. If they are killed before that creates, they are doing award Experience.

Monsters that are spawned from the spawner don't award XP when killed. This list includes:

Baal's Festering Appendages

Blood Hawks using their Nests

Diablo's Bone Prisons

Demon Imps from Evil Demon Huts

Hungry Dead from Blood Raven

Ice Spawn from Nihlathak

Mummies from Sarcophagi

Sand Maggots from Coldworm the Burrower

Sand Maggot Eggs from Sand Maggots

Sand Maggot Young using their Eggs

Vile Children from Vile Mothers

A monster's Base XP =

Monster Level (mLVL) * MonStats (from MonStats.txt game file) / 100

The XP gained from the monster experiences multiple modifications before it is awarded to some Character which we'll cover below.

Each equation must round right down to an integer since the game cannot award a non-integer value as XP. For equations with portions in parentheses, that section is rounded before moving to the next portion of the equation. The sections have been in the proper order for that total XP calculation, and just how the modifiers apply.
